The 11,000-tonne, 155m (510ft) construction was moved into place below the East Coast Primary Line at Werrington, Peterborough, at 150cm (60in) per hour over 9 days.
The tunnel, opening on the finish of 2021, will separate freight and passenger trains on the London to Edinburgh route. It’s going to result in quicker and extra dependable providers, stated Community Rail.
The mission is a part of £1.2bn being spent to improve the road.
