Jakarta – Indonesia stated on Sunday its coast guard had seized the Iranian-flagged MT Horse and the Panamanian-flagged MT Freya vessels over suspected unlawful gas transfers off the nation’s waters.
An announcement from coast guard spokesman Wisnu Pramandita stated the tankers, seized in waters off Kalimantan province, have been escorted to Batam island in Riau Island province for additional investigation.
“The tankers, first detected at 5:30 am native time (2130 GMT on Jan 23) hid their id by not displaying their nationwide flags, turning of automated identification programs and didn’t reply to a radio name,” the assertion stated.
