AMMAN – Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh and members of his cupboard had been sworn in on Monday earlier than King Abdullah II of Jordan, the state-run Petra information company reported.

Khasawneh, a veteran diplomat and former advisor to the king for insurance policies, media, and coordination, was appointed after former Prime Minister Omar Razzaz and his council of ministers resigned earlier this month.

Among the many new cupboard, Ayman Safadi was appointed as deputy prime minister and minister of overseas affairs, Umayyah Touqan was appointed as deputy prime minister for financial affairs and Tawfiq Krishan was appointed as deputy prime minister for native administration affairs.

In a letter to the brand new prime minister on Oct 7, the king stated the method of cupboard formation comes amid the COVID-19 unfold, stressing that residents’ well being and wellbeing is the highest precedence, which calls for that the federal government continues to take all fastidiously studied measures to take care of the pandemic, in a way that balances healthcare concerns with working financial sectors and safeguarding residents’ livelihoods.
