Navi Mumbai Airport to Be Named After Bal Thackeray; Faces Oppn from DB Patil’s Supporters
Some native politicians had demanded that the brand new airport be named for farmer chief late D B Patil. City Growth Minister Eknath Shinde, who made the announcement, stated the chief minister has assured the DB Patil Motion Samiti, which is elevating this demand, that another challenge will likely be named after the farmer chief. “We’ve quite a lot of respect for D B Patil. The chief minister has requested the motion committee to advocate another challenge (to be named after Patil),” stated Shinde, a senior Shiv Sena chief.
“One assembly has taken place (with the committee) and yet another will happen. A optimistic consequence is predicted,” he stated. CIDCO, the state-run planning company which is executing the greenfield airport challenge, proposed that it’s named after Bal Thackeray, he stated.
